May bank holiday pharmacy opening times

01 May 2019

Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group has published the opening times of local pharmacies for the May bank holidays.

Your local pharmacy can provide expert medical advice on a wide range of conditions and should be the first place you go to for any minor health problems over the long holiday weekends.

Hospital A&E departments can be extremely busy over bank holidays, so should be avoided unless you have a serious medical emergency. By going to your local pharmacy you will be seen far quicker.

Health bosses say everyone should complete a short check list before the bank holidays:

  • If you regularly take a prescription medicine make sure you have enough to get through the holiday weekend – don’t run out
  • Keep your home medicine cabinet well stocked to ensure you can deal with any minor accidents or illnesses
  • Check the opening times of your local pharmacy here

If you or a member of your family are feeling unwell over the bank holidays and you’re unsure which medical service is most suitable, call NHS111. This is a free service offering expert medical advice 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
