Bedfordshire families will get a chance to have their say on the future of paediatric services via a new website.
Your Health In Bedfordshire (www.yourhealthinbedfordshire.co.uk) goes live on Monday 23 September. It will keep families updated and give them the opportunity to get involved and share their views.
The consultation is taking place following the suspension of some children's services at Bedford Hospital earlier this year. It has been a difficult time for children and families in Bedford but Bedford GPs believe the crisis in paediatric care is an opportunity to engage the whole community in identifying what excellent children’s healthcare looks like and how we can best deliver it.
Bedfordshire CCG has set out its plans on how it will listen, involve and provide information to children, young people and their families throughout three key phases of the consultation and engagement process.
BCCG has no pre-conceived ideas on the future model of paediatric services that might best deliver safe, high quality care for Bedfordshire families. But it wants to provide better, more personalised services than we have had before.
It is vital that the CCG gets the right model of care in place – a model that delivers high quality, safe, sustainable healthcare for local children and young people.
BCCG is encouraging all Bedfordshire families, children and young people to get involved and have their say.
