Healthcare Review events update
14 July 2014
Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group are continuing to talk to local people about their ambitions for local healthcare as part of the Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes Healthcare Review.
They’ve been out to visit children's centres, carer’s cafes and the Langford village fete as part of their commitment to involve as many people as possible in the Review and find out what people want from their local health services.
Parents generally had good experiences at Luton & Dunstable A&E and The Lister and Bedford maternity units. Carers also praised Luton & Dunstable, The Lister and Bedford hospitals, along with Bedford's Carers' Lounge and Milton Keynes' walk-in centre.
Fete goers gave the thumbs up to family doctors and the extra services they were getting from some local GPs.
However, hospital waiting times were felt to be too long and people thought it was difficult to get emergency GP appointments quickly. General access to GPs and issues with transport were also raised as concerns.
