Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG) alongside its commissioning partner, Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council, is committed to a programme of transformation for mental health and learning disability services.
In October 2013, BCCG published its case for change for mental health services. Following this, the commissioning organisations embarked on a procurement programme for mental health, learning disability and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across the county. As part of the procurement for CAMHS, a consultation was developed and ran between March and May 2014. Through the use of focus groups and questionnaires, it sought to obtain feedback from children and young people and their parents or carers on their views, experiences and recommendations for the services offered by CAMHS. This feedback helped to inform the tender process for the CAMHS segment of the mental health procurement.
The report was submitted to the CAMHS procurement subgroup and shared with the members of the Mental Health and Learning Disability Steering group in June 2014. The report is available online.
