This year Get Online week is running from 12 - 18 October. The events are coordinated by the Tinder Foundation, who developed the getting started with online services course.
The campaign aims to reach tens of thousands of people and help them to get online for the first time, or brush up their computer and internet skills. Events will take place across the country to support people to do more with digital, and there will be events happening everywhere from buses to churches, and from cafes to community centres.
NHS England, last year, achieved its aim of getting GP practices to offer patients the option of making GP appointments, requesting repeat prescriptions or viewing healthcare records online. Get Online Week helps encourage those that wouldn’t normally use IT for any of these things, to use IT. To find out more about patient online click here.
Last year, 80,000 people were reached by Get Online Week. This year, the theme of Get Online Week is “Make life easy - online”. To find an event near you, call 0800 77 1234 or visit www.getonlineweek.com
