Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group appoint new Director for Acute Commissioning

*Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG) is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Director for Acute Commissioning, Donna Derby who joins the organisation from Milton Keynes CCG, in June 2016.

Donna’s extensive experience as a senior leader in healthcare includes roles in NHS commissioning, primary care and acute trusts as well as with provider organisations contracted by the NHS.

She has delivered measurable improvements in meeting NHS Constitution standards such A&E waiting times, an admission avoidance scheme focussed on care homes and a range of community projects designed to decrease dependency on hospital services.

Donna Derby said: “I am really looking forward to joining the BCCG team at such an exciting time with the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. I am keen to help build the processes, relationships and culture that will lead to successful integrated acute and emergency care services.”

BCCG Accountable Officer Matthew Tait said; “I am delighted that Donna is joining the BCCG leadership team. Her extensive management experience across the health sector will help us meet the challenges and opportunities that come from the focus on acute and emergency care in The NHS Five year Forward View, as we move towards integrated services which benefit the health of all in Bedfordshire.”
