A video promoting a new Mental Health Recovery College for Bedfordshire and Luton has been produced.
The college provides free workshops and courses at community locations across the county promoting wellbeing and offering relevant, real-life help and support for everyone. It is part of a Mental Health Academy launched by the East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) in partnership with Bedfordshire University. ELFT is commissioned to provide mental health and learning disability services in Bedfordshire.
The video features moving messages from staff, service users and stakeholders about the importance of good mental health and promotes the Recovery College message that courses are for open for everyone. It was filmed by Ben Salmons, a service user who now works for the Trust leading the Break The Stigma campaign.
Recovery College workshops are delivered by service users, university staff and students and staff from the Trust which delivers Bedfordshire and Luton Mental Health and Wellbeing Services.
The college was launched in May and workshops are available during the summer. A new prospectus for September is being produced.
