Alvin Low, BCCG Chair is delighted to inform that after a formal process last week, the Board has appointed a new Accountable Officer for Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (BCCG).
Sarah Thompson joins BCCG from Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group, where she has worked as Chief Officer since May 2016. She has extensive experience of working at chief executive level in the NHS and has held a number of senior commissioning roles across London and the West Midlands.
Sarah will join BCCG on a 12-month fixed term contract at the end of July to help manage BCCG's challenging financial position and the transition towards an Accountable Care System. Alvin Low said, "I am confident that Sarah’s unique mix of skills and experience will help us to build and strengthen our CCG."
Matthew Tait will leave BCCG at the end of May to take up a new position in Surrey. BCCG would like to thank Matthew for his service and wish him every success in his new role.
There will be a six-week gap before Sarah can join BCCG. Donna Derby will be acting Accountable Officer during this period.
