Update on closure of Private Ambulance Service

01 October 2017

Following the closure of Private Ambulance Service, Clinical Commissioning Groups in Bedfordshire, Luton and Hertfordshire are working hard this weekend to transfer patient journeys over to East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, who is the new provider.

While we’re working to keep disruption to a minimum, we are looking to run a skeleton service on Monday, providing transport for patients attending priority appointments like dialysis or cancer treatments, whilst East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust establishes a full service.

We are asking patients, who are attending routine appointments to contact their hospital or care setting where they have their appointment to make sure that their appointment is still going ahead, or if they are able to make their own way to hospital.

We apologise for the inconvenience but we are confident that once the transition is complete, EEAST will provide a good quality and safe service for all patients who need transportation.
