We are a group of ten GP practices located in the south of Bedfordshire, covering Dunstable, Houghton Regis, Toddington, Caddington and the surrounding villages.
All of our GP practices work together with our partners to ensure the best possible healthcare and services for our local population.
Over the next 20 years, the population in our area is expected to grow at a much higher rate than the national average due to significant housing and business developments to the north of Houghton Regis.
Many of our GP practices cover some of the 10% to 30% most deprived areas nationally. The age profile of the Chiltern Vale population varies across our area with many young families living in Houghton Regis and older residents in Caddington.
Population: Approximately 78,444
Health spend: £60 million
Local providers: Luton and Dunstable Hospital, Milton Keynes Hospital, Bedford Hospital.
GP Lead: Dr Sanjay Sharma
Our focus is to improve 'care when it's not that simple' integrating all NHS and social care services to provide care closer to patients' homes. Our locality delivery plan sets out our priorities, plans and objectives for the next year.
Our local strategy and objectives contribute to the overall aims of the clinical commissioning group as set out in the Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group Strategic Commissioning Plan and in the Bedfordshire Plan for Patients
A key part of our work is to ensure we involve local patients and their families in all of our plans and decisions about local healthcare.
