Public Sector Equality Duty - Data Publication

There is guidance from the Equalities and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) on what data we should publish in order to meet the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and we are working to bring all the relevant data to our website as soon as we can.

Under each heading, below, there are either links to what we publish ourselves or links to where we use data published by other organisations, an explanation of how we use that data or how you can get more information if we aren’t able to publish the data at this time.

Information relating to people who share a protected characteristic who are our employees.

We produce an annual workforce profile report and that can be found here.

Our staff take part in a staff survey produced by NHS and the most recently available results of that can be found here

Information relating to people who are affected by our policies and practices but are not employees (for example, service users).

We consider equalities data from a range of sources. These include:

Bedford Borough Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

Central Bedfordshire Council Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

Central Bedfordshire Council Equality Pages

Bedford Borough Council equality pages

Each of our locality teams produce a Locality Profile of the data that is relevant to their work. This data also helps to inform our equality and diversity work. The locality profiles can be found here

Our commissioning and contract monitoring processes also produce information that we use to assess equality impact and to develop and improve services. Not all of this information can be published but please contact the Equality and Diversity Manager if you have specific questions about this part of our work. paul.curry@bedfordshireccg.nhs.uk

Information on how we show due regard in making our decisions, including any analysis undertaken and the evidence used.

We have an Equality and Diversity Strategy and Action Plan and this is here

The review of the 2015 action plan and the new 2016-18 action plan can be found in this Governing Body report.

We have an Equality Impact Assessment (EqIA) process. This can be found here

We aim to publish all completed equality impact assessments as soon as possible and usually as part of the published final policy, report etc. The BCCG policy page is here

We have looked at the policies published before 2015 and 53% have the EqIA as part of the published document. Where we have not included the EqIA please contact the Equality and Diversity Manager for further information, specifying the policy you are interested in. paul.curry@bedfordshireccg.nhs.uk

We are currently reviewing our governance procedures to ensure that consideration of equalities issues is given appropriate prominence in decision making. When this review is complete the reviewed policy and procedure will be published on the policies page on our website

Reports that are taken to our Governing Body, where appropriate, include an equalities statement. Governing Body papers can be found here

Our Public Engagement Forum and Diversity Champions groups also support this work. Information about the Public Engagement Forum can be found here

Relevant performance information, especially those relating to outcomes, for example, health outcomes for people from different ethnic minorities, and reported incidences of disability-related harassment.

We have published a report on health inequalities by protected category that we use in our work and this can be found here

Our EDS2 report considered performance data and outcomes and the areas where we need to undertake further work. The EDS2 page on this website gives further information.

Any relevant data that we have collected will feed into EqIAs so will be published as part of that process when appropriate

We know that this is an area we need to work on and we are working with the teams that collect performance data to understand what’s collected and what we can publish.

Access to and satisfaction with services, including complaints.

Any relevant data that we have collected will feed into EqIAs so will be published as part of that process when appropriate

We know that this is an area we need to work on and we are working with the teams that collect this data to understand what’s collected and what we can publish.

Any quantitative and qualitative research undertaken, for example patient surveys and focus groups.

Our research results feed into the EqIA process and are published as part of the published final policy, report etc.

Details of, and feedback from, any engagement exercises.

Where engagement exercises are undertaken the results will feed into the EqIA process. Where reports on these issues are put to the Governing Body they should contain an equalities statement. Governing Body papers con be found here
