We make every effort to ensure that all members of the community can attend and participate at our meetings and focus groups. If you would like to attend one of our meetings or focus groups and have a requirement that needs to be met to enable you to participate, please contact us.


Healthwatch Engagement on NHS Long-Term Plan

NHS England have asked Healthwatch (via local Healthwatches) to engage with the public on the content of the NHS Long Term Plan. Our local Healthwatches will therefore be doing targeted public engagement to find out what local people think. We will be able to draw on this engagement as we develop a longer-term plan for the Integrated Care System, due in the autumn.

Dunstable Integrated Health and Care Hub – Public Consultation (live until 7 April 2019)

BCCG has been working with local GP surgeries, Central Bedfordshire Council and other partners on plans for an integrated health and care Hub in Dunstable town centre.  The Hub which is proposed to be built on land behind GObowling, would provide extended care and support to the people of Dunstable and surrounding areas.

Biddenham New Build Primary Care Facility (live until 31 March 2019)

It is important that primary care services can meet the demand of growing populations and BCCG has to consider the way it delivers services across Bedfordshire now and in the future.

We would like to hear patients and local residents’ views on the proposal to build a new surgery in Biddenham and to re-locate the two branch surgeries in Bromham.

Primary Care - The Village Medical Centre, Great Denham

Services provided at GP practices are arranged through contracts with individual providers to run individual practices and services. 

The GP services at The Village Medical Centre, Great Denham are currently provided by NHSolutions, their caretaker contract will end on 31 March 2019.

To help ensure the most suitable provider is chosen, we engaged with patients at the practice to capture their feedback and gather opinions on new ways of working.

Putnoe Walk-in Centre Consultation - This consultation has now closed

The public consultation showed resoundingly that residents in Bedford want to retain a walk in service in the north of the borough.  We listened and have agreed a new contract, which means that walk in services will continue to be delivered at Putnoe Medical Centre and run in tandem with the new Urgent Treatment Centre on the south wing of Bedford Hospital.

 BLMK Perinatal Patient Experience Questionnaire - This survey has now closed

This questionnaire is aimed at mothers that may have suffered from a mental illness in the Perinatal period (From conception through to the child being 1 years old) in Luton, Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. This work is being undertaken by the East of England Clinical Networks and the data will be shared with local leaders such as providers, commissioners and professionals in the field to help them re-design and re-shape services in the area that are more tailored around the patient


Maternity services across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes - survey closed

The Clinical Commissioning Groups across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes are working together to transform maternity services in the area and deliver the recommendations of Better Births

The aim is to work with local women to re-design services to make them safer, kinder and more personalised. By completing the survey you will be helping to improve this work.This survey is for any woman who is currently using or has used maternity services in Bedford, Luton or Milton Keynes in the last 5 years.

Have Your Say on Health and Wellbeing in Bedford Borough - Consultation now closed

Bedford Borough Council and Bedfordshire CCG are consulting on the new Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, and are asking local residents to have their say.

This Strategy underpins the work of the local Health and Wellbeing Board, which brings the NHS, public health, social care, children’s services, Healthwatch, and elected representatives together to consider the health and wellbeing needs of those living in Bedford Borough.
