Recruiting Patient Representatives

We are offering a unique opportunity for volunteers to join our Patient and Public Engagement Committee (PPEC).  The committee ensures that patients and the public are being involved in shaping local NHS services.  It is a formal sub-committee of our Governing Body and provides assurance that the Bedfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group is meeting its legal duty to consult on service changes.

Patient representatives are key to providing a constructive challenge, they influence and scrutinise communication and engagement plans and offer opinions and recommendations on consulting and engaging with Bedfordshire’s patients and communities.  Patient representatives act as an ambassador voice for patients and the public.

Representatives do not need to have qualifications or experience working in healthcare. We just ask that applicants have an active interest in local health services and have some experience using NHS services in Bedfordshire, whether that be for themselves or for someone they have cared for.

Please read the role description for further information.   l
